Three WA winners announced at the APAL Industry Forum

On Thursday evening Jason Jarvis, Mark Scott, and I attended the 2023 APAL Industry Forum Welcome event in Melbourne. During the evening we were proud to witness local growers and marketers, win some of the Awards of Excellence.

Local Manjimup grower Murray Collins of Collins Orchards was announced as the winner of the most prestigious award of 'Grower of the Year’.  Murray is a well-deserved recipient, representing his family in their commitment to hard work to build their reputation of excellence in both production and business modelling.

Ann Lyster of Lyster Orchards Manjimup was named this year's 'Woman in Horticulture', again being aptly recognised for her many years of service and pure passion for the WA apple industry.

Jenny Mercer, of WA Farm Direct, was awarded 'Marketer of the Year' also well-earned with her many years of developing the marketing program for the Bravo® branded apple and Soluna® international and their success to date for the Australian apple industry, particularly in export development.

Pomewest congratulates all the award winners and recognises the outstanding contributions of many across the country who shape and influence the industry, from research, production, marketing, and exporting.
