Pomewest reminds growers to donate unsaleable produce to help families this festive season

The Pomewest Committee supports a call to action to support Foodbank and others, particularly with the upcoming festive season approaching to help families who are doing it tough.

Around 26 growers in south-west Western Australia donate produce to Foodbank. The Bunbury Foodbank provides food for 400-500 families each week. Donations have fallen due to the rising cost of living and farm labour challenges. A Foodbank report from October 2022 showed the rising cost of living was the primary cause of more than 2 million households across the nation experiencing severe food insecurity in the last year.
