Future Workforce Training

To secure a skilled future focused workforce, what are your business training needs?

Pomewest will be attending an all of Horticulture meeting next Friday 16th for an update with the State Government to discuss DPIRD's labour workforce activities and a general check in with our industry in regard to labour requirements.  This will be an opportunity to discuss the future needs for skill training in your businesses and understand the status of transient workers accessible in the current production regions.

To help us represent you, please interact and advise us of any courses you would like initiated and also if you are having trouble finding labour for the upcoming harvest period. Suggestions so far include: 

  • Leadership/Management

  • Packing shed/technical management skills and training

  • WHS, Quality Assurance or Supervisory routine and staff performance

  • Succession planning

We hope to explore a collaborative approach to find synergies across industries to define priorities and funding mechanisms.
