Natural Mite Control

Improving natural control of mites in Western Australian deciduous fruit orchards – release and monitor new species of predatory mites undertaken by Stewart Learmonth Entomologist DAFWA Manjimup.

Mites are such a consistent pest in deciduous fruit tree orchards in Western Australia either orchard staff or consultants undertake monitoring to determine whether intervention using miticides is required. This year Pome has engaged the Department of Agriculture and Food WA to analyse mites as a consistent presence each season in deciduous fruit tree crops.
