Crossing the Threshold: Adaptation Tipping Points for Australian Fruit Trees and Understanding apple and pear production systems in a changing climate
Two nationally funded projects (Crossing the Threshold: Adaptation tipping points for Australian fruit trees funded by Department of Agriculture and Water Resources and Understanding Apple and Pear production systems in a changing climate funded by Horticulture Innovation Australia) have been working towards answering several key questions regarding climate adaptation in apple, pear and cherry across Australian growing regions in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Field data to assess temperature-physiology relationships have been collected at several climatically diverse Australian locations for winter chill accrual, flowering timing, extreme heat exposure and potential yield. These datasets provided critical information for both projects and form a legacy dataset for future research.
