Industry Update # 3 Queensland Fruit Fly Bayswater Incursion 2023
Situation Update issued 5 April 2023
This week the DPIRD Bayswater Qfly incident teams remain active in all areas of the Quarantine Area (QA), with a team focusing on eradication activities within the Corrective Action Zone (Bayswater residential area) and another team moving through the wider Export Assurance Zone, engaging with road-side stall holders, point of sale businesses and supporting other industry stakeholders.
A quick summary of the latest activities:
All street trees within the Corrective Action Zone have now been baited.
Approximately 1340 private properties have been visited and 608 of their host trees have been baited using Naturalure®.
250 Amulet bait stations have been deployed.
Qfly surveillance traps remain deployed through the QA and 134 fruit samples have been collected for further analysis in DPIRD laboratories.
